My name is Courtney Venable and I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in French. During my time at Illinois, I studied abroad in Avignon, France and also interned in Paris, France where I wrote a research paper on consumer adaptability to future mobile payments in the French market. I was also involved in my sorority, Kappa Delta as President and Secretary, my business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and with the integration of the required Business School course: Corporate Responsibility.
I grew up in Laguna Beach, California, a city right in between LA and San Diego. I love traveling! Some of my favorite travel destinations are Paris, Dubai, and Hallstatt, Austria. I also enjoy cooking, baking, reading cookbooks, trying new restaurants and new foods, paddleboarding, golfing, kayaking, snowboarding, small towns, and going to farmer’s markets or random festivals. I danced for the majority of my life and have recently gotten into Bikram Yoga as a replacement.
I am so excited to be a part of the 2011 Global Management Trainee Program! It was such a personal accomplishment to be accepted into this prestigious program. I knew that I wanted to work for Anheuser-Busch inBev because of the motivated people I met along the way during the interview process and the meritocracy-based culture. It felt like a perfect fit!
After just three weeks on the job, the program has already surpassed my expectations. I have learned information from almost every department of the company and have had the opportunity to meet with and gain insight from upper management. No other program I know gives you the opportunity to do that during the first month on the job! I am ecstatic to see what the next nine months will bring!
